Spanish Teachers

  • Amèrica

I live in the community of Mezcales. I used to live in the town of Sayulita (20 minutes away from where I currently live) but due to the pandemic I had to move. Both towns are located in the Riviera Nayarita where we are surrounded by wonderful beaches, mountains and jungle.

I am 41 years old. I have a 19 year old son named Inti who is my unconditional love and I am divorced. I have had the opportunity to work as a teacher for several years and it is what I enjoy the most among all the activities I do. I love teaching Spanish because you learn a lot about the language and other languages but above all you learn to respect and empathize with other people who are interested in learning more about this language.

Due to the pandemic, my job had to close their services and I did not make enough income to pay rent. Thanks to the opportunity that I received from Kathy, little by little I have been recovering, paying debts, helping my son and moving forward with other women with whom we form a wonderful team.

  • Andrea

Hello, my name is Andrea Morales and I live in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, a touristic city that both foreigners and nationals enjoy. I was born in Mexico City almost 60 years ago. I have also lived in Zitácuaro and Zamora in the state of Michoacán. Before moving to Vallarta, I lived in Guadalajara, Jalisco.

My husband's name is Javier, he works in a hotel. We have a 25 year old son named Ruben who works in cartoon animation.

Most of my life I have worked as a science teacher, teaching physics, chemistry, biology and ecology for junior high and high school. I recently decided to study for a master's degree in Development, Sustainability and Tourism. I also belong to the Scout Movement, which helps children and young people to develop strong character and develop important skills socially and physically.

In my time as a Spanish teacher with this association, I feel very comfortable with the job. It allows me to continue taking care of my elderly parents and also is a new and rewarding challenge to use digital technology to teach.

  • Mercedes

My name is Mercedes, I am Argentinean, I am 43 years old and I have been living in Mexico for 19 years. I currently live in Sayulita, Nayarit with my three children and my husband. I love living in Mexico, it is a wonderful country.

A little over a year ago I started English classes at the center and thanks to that, I met "Mujeres Movimiento". Through these wonderful women is how I started teaching Spanish, first, in person and now via Zoom because of COVID.

This opportunity, besides helping me economically, allowed me to meet many incredible people. It would have been impossible to work because many places closed and even now that they are open they work part time. I am very grateful to Mujeres Movimiento for trusting me and giving me this opportunity to teach, meet people and travel the world through them.

What I enjoy most about teaching Spanish is the opportunity to interact and explore Spanish with students, as well as helping them meet their goals and objectives. Plus it is always fun and interesting to exchange cultural and other points of view that come with learning a new language.

In the midst of the pandemic crisis, when many businesses have closed, having the opportunity to work as a Spanish teacher has been a great relief, as well as very uplifting and enjoyable.

Thanks to this job I can afford to work with my daughter at home, who is still small, without having to take her somewhere. I am very grateful to have met Miss Kathy and this group of women who are empowered and determined to make a difference. They are creating opportunities, awareness and educating people both in the community and in general in the country.

I am very excited to teach Spanish classes because it gives me the opportunity to share a piece of my life and to be able to give my students such a useful tool as learning a new language and being able to learn from them.

Being able to work in this program gives me the economic support and the freedom I need to be able to continue my studies. I am very happy to be in the program.

  • Iveth

Hello, my name is Iveth Castro. I live in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. I love decorating, sewing, music and spending time with family and friends.

Teaching Spanish classes to foreigners as part of the Mujeres Movimiento program has been very rewarding for me for several reasons. It has allowed me to meet people with very different origins, customs and ages. It gives me the satisfaction of seeing how the students are managing to communicate better and better in a language that is not their native language; and it provides me with an additional income that allows me to continue with personal projects.

  • Arhely

Hello, my name is Arhely Coronel. I am 28 years old and I live with my parents in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. I have a degree in Preschool Education and I also finished a course to become an English teacher for all ages, but I like teaching English to children the most.

I had the opportunity to start teaching Spanish and I have been teaching Zoom classes for a short time, which I have enjoyed very much. I love that there is no language barrier and to be part of the process to diminish the limits that many times we human beings put on ourselves in communication.

Something about me is that in each of my classes I give my best and I like to receive the same from my students. I like to ensure that my students get all of their questions answered and also to provide enough confidence for them to approach me in case they have them.
