Mujeres Movimiento is a
US-based organization that provides resources to support Mujeres Movimiento-Sayulita.
Sayulita, Mexico is an idyllic seaside pueblo that draws thousands of tourists each year.
While many benefit from the tourism, most local women are employed in low-paying service jobs struggling to provide for their families in a pueblo that is growing prohibitively expensive.
Mujeres Movimiento-Sayulita was created to assist women and their children to better benefit from this tourism.
Helping local women launch successful businesses
Mujeres Movimiento-Sayulita assists by helping local women successfully launch several business ventures including the creation of
an online Spanish language program that employs 14 women
seasonal workshops in which women are paid to teach cooking, Mexican arts and crafts and much more!
a business selling homemade straps and lovely stuffed animals to stores in the US. All proceeds go to support our programs and the people here in Mexico who make the crafts!
